The department of Zoology was established in the year 2013 for under graduate course Bachelor of Science (BSc). With a group of dedicated and enthusiastic faculties at the helm, the department is taking faster strides in academics. Within the span of time, alumni of our department have spread their name and fame in academics, and all other walks of life. Zoology is the study of animals wherein the student receives a highly comprehensive exposure to all levels of animal function and their diversity. Through the study of zoology, you can gain an understanding of the natural world and how we can help with conservation. It also offers the opportunity to consider ways to face global challenges such as climate change and food security, trying to find solutions to help both animals and humans alike. In this stream, students understand at a deeper level about how animals are integral component of the ecosystem. Animals also have a major impact on our economy either as a competing for our food or as parasites influencing the quality of public health. The Department offers a three-year B.Sc. course with Zoology as the main subject and Chemistry and Botany as an elective subject. It has all the basic infrastructural facilities including audio-visual facilities, computers and internet, a well-equipped laboratory with numerous specimens and charts, models and slides. Apart from the routine theory and practical classes, we conduct regular field experience trips.
