Department of Physics:
The mission of the Department of Physics is to advance knowledge and understanding of the fundamental laws governing the natural world, and to apply this knowledge to the benefit of society. The department seeks to achieve this mission through excellence in research, education, and outreach. The vision of the Department of Physics is to be a world-class center of discovery and innovation, where faculty, students, and staff work together to push the boundaries of knowledge and to solve some of the most pressing scientific and technological challenges facing society.
The department strives to create a supportive and inclusive environment that fosters creativity, collaboration, and intellectual curiosity, and that prepares students for leadership roles in academia, industry, and government. The department was established in 2013. The department has a strong history of teaching and research achievement. The department has been offering a three-year undergraduate course in physics and implementing the choice-based credit System (CBCS) syllabus at the undergraduate level since the 2015-16 academic years.
